In a shocking report, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) in Kenya has apprehended the prime suspect behind the gruesome Mukuru Kwa Njenga mass killings.
Collins Jomaisi Khalisia, a 33-year-old man from Vihiga County, was arrested at dawn on Monday, July 15, in Kayole’s Soweto area while watching the Euro Cup finals.
During interrogation, Khalisia confessed to having murdered 42 women between 2022 and 2024, dumping their bodies at the Mukuru Kwa Njenga dumpsite.
The suspect’s killing spree allegedly began with his own wife, Imelda, in 2022.
According to the DCI, Khalisia claimed his actions were motivated by revenge after his wife misused funds from two businesses he had est ablished for her.
The authorities recovered several incriminating items from the suspect’s Kayole residence, including:
- 24 Airtel SIM card holders (without SIM cards)
- 8 smartphones
- A laptop
- A machete believed to be used for dismembering bodies
- 12 nylon sacks used to dump the bodies
- Industrial gloves
- Female clothing items
- Clear tape
- Multiple ID cards
So far, at least nine bodies have been retrieved from the Kware dumpsite in Mukuru kwa Njenga.
The DCI chief described Khalisia as a “vampire” and “psychopathic serial killer,” highlighting the horrific nature of his crimes.
This arrest comes as a significant breakthrough in the case that has shocked the nation.
The suspect is currently being held at DCI Headquarters as investigations continue.
Authorities are working to identify all victims and provide closure to their families.
The case has raised concerns about public safety and the need for improved security measures in the area.
