Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Ogamba has announced that the results for the 2024 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examinations will be released, affecting over 965,000 candidates nationwide.

The announcement comes as marking activities conclude for Kenya’s largest-ever KCSE examination cohort. Speaking at the Kabete National Polytechnic’s graduation ceremony, CS Ogamba revealed that the Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) is in the final stages of processing the results.
“The marking process is nearly complete, and we expect to release the results in January,” Ogamba stated, emphasizing the ministry’s commitment to maintaining the integrity of the examination process.

This year’s examination saw:
- 965,501 registered candidates
- 10,755 examination centers nationwide
- Only 621 reported cases of examination malpractice
- Enhanced security measures throughout the examination period

The ministry reported minimal cases of examination malpractice, with only 621 candidates implicated in irregularities. These cases involved:
- Unauthorized written materials
- Mobile phone possession
- Collusion with non-candidates
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) continues to investigate several cases, including a notable arrest involving a Telegram group administrator suspected of attempting to distribute examination materials.
